Song Of The Week! wk:35

Posted On 03:37 PM

I love music! So I feel like posting something cool and naughty, JK. Every Monday there will be a song name posted that I believe is killer fun and represents what mood you should be in during the upcoming week. They might be popular bands and songs but there is not much gratification in looking up a common song and it would be complete tomfoolery for you to listen to a song that already plays on the radio. So I shall tell you of a song that has a unique style and taste for the senses, mostly hearing. But anyway, here it goes, you can find the songs I post on Amazon (there is a link to that on by clicking on the Album Art). Just look up the song and purchase it, if your feeling adventurous purchase the whole CD!!!

Song Of The Week:

“Good Times” by Latch Key Kid

Album: Good TimesGood Times

Okay, so its that time of the week again. Yay! I was trying to think of a song that would rev up your spirits and a song that makes me feel swell. This one is it. I saw I Love You, Man last weekend and I absolutely loved the movie! This song is on the opening scene and it just sets the mood for the rest of the movie. The beat is moving and fun just like Ray Lamontagne’s “You are the best thing”. This is an awesome song that will make your troubles melt away!!

Song Of The Week:

“Hey Jude” by The Beatles

Album: Hey Jude Single

Hey Jude single

It’s been a long time coming for one of the super-hits of the Beatles to be a song of the week. This is my personal favorite of my collection, it is Hey Jude. This song was huge in its time and can still be thoroughly enjoyed. With catchy lyrics and a fun ending Hey Jude is a gem in music’s history!

Song Of The Week:

“The Seed 2.0” by The Roots

Album: Phrenology

Phrenology

It’s about time that we get hip with the hop on the SOTW! This song was phunk all over it. The beat is easy to listen to and definitely flowing. You will be singing and humming to this song in no time. It is obviously a song that you want to have on your party playlist!! It is one of the coolest songs that I own and you should own it to.

Song Of The Week:

“These” by Pebble Theory

Album: Air EPAir EP

Well, this week’s song of the week is a very relaxed reggae-like song by Pebble Theory. The reason why I picked this song, other than the fact that it is super awesome, is because it is a song that could be played for any occasion. If you feel down, up or anywhere in between this song is fun to play loudly or just to be used as background noise at some party or coffeehouse. It is a really cool song by an even cooler band!

Song Of The Week:

“The View From The Afternoon” by Arctic Monkeys

Album: Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not  The reason that I selected this song is because it is one of the best songs by the arctic monkeys. It is a really cool song with an equally as cool beat. The bass line, drums, and guitar go together perfectly. Another reason why I selected the song is because this Thursday at four EST at this site. They will be performing a live show online. They will play songs from their new album ‘Humbug’ on this web transmission. So check out the song and then tune in on Thursday online!

Starting every Monday there will be a song name posted that I believe is killer fun and represents what mood you should be in during the upcoming week. Song Of The Week:

“Spritz!!!Spritz!!!” by Minus The Bear

Album: Highly Refined Pirates

Highly Refined PiratesThe reason that I selected this song is because it is great to play loudly so that other people can see that you listen to weird music too and that is okay. It is off of MTB’s second album which means it has that rawness that bands have when they begin. The song also talks about hydroplaning, which I would not recommend for anyone to try, but due to it raining often where I currently reside (even though it gets to about 100 degrees F !!), it reminds me of that. It is a super song that you should download.

Song Of The Week:

“Time Is Running Out” by Muse

Album: Absolution

 Absolution

The reason that I selected this song is because it is flat-out fun! I was about to mow the lawn while listening to some music, which I frankly did not want to do because it is HOT, but then this song came up. It pumped me up and got me in the mood to cut the grass reeeeaaaal thin. The way the song flows through different emotions makes me go crazy (in a good way). Personally, it is my favorite song of my short Muse collection. Good song to workout to also!
