For your Christmas gifts make a list with the name of the people your giving gifts to including the item and prices.

Visit the stores when they announce offers and compare prices. At the moment that you are sure that the sale price is less than the price on your list, buy it. It doesn’t matter if its months before Christmas. This way you’ll save money and you’ll avoid buying gifts just before Christmas at any price. This is also a great idea for birthdays or any occasion.

If you did not find all your gifts on sale on Black Friday, wait until Cyber Monday to do your shopping and look for your purchases in the website of your local stores that offer site-to-store shipping, this way you will be saving on shipping and handling.

Turkey Taquitos

Save the leftovers from Thanksgiving. Shred the meat and place it on a plastic container and put it in the refrigerator for the day after. If you don’t plan on using the meat the very next day you can put it in a freezer bag, the best are the Vacuum Food bags.

Classic Turkey Dinner

The best Thanksgiving dinner is the one you enjoy the most with your family. Do not confine yourself in the kitchen for days before turkey day. Bake a classic turkey this holiday and make it easy on yourself. If you cannot get a fresh turkey, that’s okay, get the frozen whole turkey, just remember to let it thaw 24 hours for every 4 pounds, so plan ahead. Thaw it in the refrigerator with the breast side down, this will allow for the juices to flow to the breast. Do not remove it from its wrapping. Thawing may take 3 to 4 days, but once it’s thawed try not to let it sit in the fridge longer than 2 days.

Chocolate Covered Marshmallows

Treat them to some MARSHMALLOWS COVERED IN CHOCOLATE.  They’ll definitively love the idea, you won’t spend much money (you may already have the ingredients in you kitchen) and this is a great idea to spend some quality time with them.  You’ll need:

8 oz. Hershey Kisses chocolate

2 tbs. vegetable oil

21 Big Marshmallows

7 Popsicle sticks

Sprinkles of your choice.

Have the kids place the marshmallow on the sticks while you melt in the chocolate in the microwave with the vegetable oil.

Mix well. Cover the marshmallows with chocolate and have the kids add the sprinkles.  Use your imagination.  You can also use white chocolate.

Enjoy.

Autumn Leaves

Before the winter comes prepare your lawn for next year.  Rake the leaves and save them for covering your the flower beds.  Purchase a winterizer fertilizer and apply per manufacurers instructions.  The best time to apply is eary in the morning when there’s some dew in the grass.  When spring comes next year you’ll be thankful you prepared your lawn.
